    What a fun place!
I've been here many times now and every time a different type of experience. But all times, my go to bar before an event at the Showbox SODO.
I learned about the pizza place next door on this visit! We had a great meal and great company talking with the bar staff while enjoying amazing drinks and cocktails.
After the show, my friends and I came by for more libations and played some fun games such as 4 player pac man and skee ball!
The place is very roomy and we didn't have any issues finding a seat. In fact, I have never had an issue finding a place to be at this establishment and I like that. Always a place for me here, both in the front or back bar.

What else is there to say? Always feels like home, spacious, has every drink I could order, great staff, great value, cool theme of a bar with a great pizza partnership next door for food availability. Thanks!

This bar is my favorite "dive bar" in Seattle, although it's just a little nicer than your typical dive bar. I usually go here before Seahawks games, since it tends to be really packed by Hawks fans.

They do offer free peanuts, so there are shells all over the floor (hence the dive bar moniker) but someone else mentioned free popcorn which is not the case. They also have small pizza ovens in case you're hungry, but I highly recommend grabbing a slice or whole pizza from the pizza place next door called Slice Box Pizza. They have excellent pizza, and Hooverville will let you bring it in. The only issue is that Slice Box closes at 6pm so this option doesn't work after-hours.

Hooverville has an excellent tap selection, and if you order a cocktail they pour with a very heavy hand!

I came in here a few times, with my mommy. They have popcorn and peanuts, which seems trivial but really sets the mood. It's a old-school bar in a newly growing area, and it's nice to see that you can still come to a bar where your bartender is friendly and recognizes you. They get slammed during games, but handle it with the grace and agility I've only ever seen from my brother, the cat Mabel, that unfortunately got hit by a car. I sure hope this place doesn't because they treat us right. My favorite bartender is Laura, but only by a small margin. I almost regret giving five stars because I don't want anyone stealing the spotlight of this bar.

    XoXo,

    Bill

After the bouncer let our husbands and boyfriends in, he denied two women in our group entry, assuming we were too drunk. We had all come from the same previous location (an event that allowed two drink tickets), so I feel we were judged very harshly by the bouncer, who refused to show us any amount of respect, and wouldn't speak to me or look at my ID (I'm 31, and our whole group had the same amount to drink).

I've only been here after Mariners games, so I can only speak to that.

Be prepared to get carded at the door, drinks are strong. There is no table service (there might be, but like I said, I've only visited after games) when only bar service is offered.

There are two bars, front and back. The back bar has pool tables and plenty of seating. Bartenders have always been quick to notice people waiting.
